Use For: Thresholds are versatile architectural elements used in both residential and commercial spaces. They are most commonly installed as transition pieces between different flooring materials—such as tile and hardwood—providing a smooth, functional, and visually cohesive connection. In addition to their practical role, thresholds can also serve as refined decorative accents that enhance the overall design.
Midnight Grey Stone presents a medium cool gray tone with a uniform texture and subtle depth throughout the surface. Its balanced gray color carries a slight blue undertone, giving it an elegant character for interior designs.
Can I order this Midnight Grey threshold in a custom length or width?
Yes, custom size cutting is our specialty and highly recommended. Quartz is an extremely hard material that requires professional wet saws to prevent chipping. By selecting a custom cut, you receive a piece trimmed exactly to your doorway's dimensions, providing a professional, gap-free fit against your door jambs and eliminating the need for risky on-site trimming.
What is the difference between this "Standard" saddle and a "Single Hollywood" saddle?
A Standard Saddle (this product) features small, equal bevels on both long sides and is used when the flooring on both sides of the doorway is at the same level. A Single Hollywood bevel has one long, steep slope on one side, designed specifically to bridge a height gap between different flooring materials, such as tile to wood.
How do I measure my doorway for a custom-cut quartz piece?
Measure the clear width between your door jambs at floor level. To ensure a smooth installation, we recommend providing a custom cut length that is 1/8" shorter than your total measurement. This allows the stone to slide into place easily without binding or scratching your trim and leaves a small, uniform gap for a clean caulk joint.
Why is Quartz Engineered Stone a better choice than natural gray marble?
Quartz is non-porous and highly resistant to moisture, staining, and scratching, making it far more durable than many natural stones for high-traffic entryways and bathrooms. Its consistent cool gray color ensures a uniform look across your home. Because we offer custom widths up to 8", you can perfectly match any wall or frame thickness.
Are custom-cut Midnight Grey thresholds returnable?
Because custom-cut pieces are permanently sized to your specific doorway measurements, they are non-returnable. We highly recommend measuring twice and confirming your dimensions to the nearest 1/16th of an inch before placing your order to ensure a perfect, high-end fit.
