Use For: Thresholds are versatile architectural elements used in both residential and commercial spaces. They are most commonly installed as transition pieces between different flooring materials—such as tile and hardwood—providing a smooth, functional, and visually cohesive connection. In addition to their practical role, thresholds can also serve as refined decorative accents that enhance the overall design.
Taupe Grey Stone represents a soft, warm taupe-beige base with gentle gray undertones, creating a balanced neutral tone. Fine, evenly dispersed micro-speckling in slightly darker taupe and gray hues adds subtle texture and visual depth without overpowering the overall look. The color reads as light, warm, and refined, offering a calm, contemporary elegance that complements both warm and cool design palettes and works seamlessly in modern, transitional, and minimalist spaces.
Can I get this Taupe Grey threshold custom cut to my exact width?
Yes, custom cutting is highly recommended. Standard sizes rarely fit every doorway perfectly. By selecting our custom-cut service, we precision-trim the quartz to your exact specifications. This ensures a professional, flush fit against your door jambs and eliminates the risk of you chipping the material trying to cut it yourself.
What is the difference between this "Standard" saddle and a "Hollywood" bevel?
A Standard Saddle (this product) features small, equal bevels on both long sides and is used when the floors in both rooms are at the same height. A Hollywood bevel has a much longer, steeper slope on one side, designed specifically to bridge a height gap between two different flooring levels.
How do I measure for a custom stone transition?
Measure the wall-to-wall distance between the inside of your door frame at floor level. For the best installation experience, we recommend ordering a custom cut length that is 1/8" shorter than your total measurement. This small allowance prevents the stone from scratching your trim during placement and provides a clean line for a professional caulk seal.
Is Quartz Engineered Stone better than natural marble for thresholds?
Quartz offers superior durability and consistency. It is non-porous, meaning it won't absorb water or stain in bathroom environments, and it is much harder to scratch than marble. Because we offer custom widths up to 12", you can enjoy the luxurious look of stone with the added strength and consistency of engineered quartz.
Are custom-cut Taupe Grey thresholds returnable?
Because custom-cut pieces are permanently altered to your specific doorway measurements, they are non-returnable. To ensure total satisfaction, we recommend measuring twice and confirming your dimensions to the nearest 1/16th of an inch before finalizing your order.
